What is the WVL Project?

The WVL project is an innovative platform designed to challenge and overcome obstacles to gender equality.

By providing technical and financial resources to local feminist and women’s rights organizations (LWROs), the project actively supports the fight for women’s rights and the pursuit of gender equality.

What Role Does the WVL Nigeria Strategic Innovation Fund Play?

The SIF, part of the WVL project, is a unique small grant initiative, created to support ideas and initiatives that address issues impacting the rights of women and girls in Nigeria.

Over the years, AAN has morphed into an independent national organization, registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission and forming strategic partnerships with national entities like the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s National Planning Commission.

ActionAid Nigeria WVL Nigeria Project Strategic Innovation Fund: A Golden Opportunity

The WVL Nigeria Project Strategic Innovation Fund is a unique funding opportunity. Successful applicants can expect to receive grants ranging from NGN1,000,000 to NGN2,500,000.

Each project should ideally run for a period between 6 months to 1 year.

Criteria for Fund Qualification

In the interest of promoting women’s empowerment, only women-led and women-focused organizations are eligible for the grant.

Each organization can only submit one application. AAN will contact only shortlisted organizations due to the expected high volume of applications.

The Application Process

Applying for the fund requires submission of a unique innovation idea, adhering to the provided Concept Note templates, by 11:59pm, 22nd July 2023 to WVLNigeriaGrants@actionaid.org.

The template is expandable, but should remain within a 5–7-page limit.
