eHealth Systems Africa uses tech to help with food and health against climate change. They want a manager for food programs to make sure people get good food and stay healthy. Another manager will help fight climate problems in health.

They achieve this by developing software solutions (eHealth and mHealth) that manage patient information, streamline medical procedures, and provide valuable data for program evaluation.

Food Security and Nutrition Programs:

  • Combating Food Insecurity: eHealth Africa has a dedicated Associate Manager position to tackle food insecurity. This role focuses on developing and implementing programs that improve access to nutritious food and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Community Needs Assessment: The Associate Manager conducts research to identify food gaps and specific nutritional needs within the target communities.
  • Program Design and Management: This role involves designing and managing initiatives that increase access to essential nutrition services, reduce food insecurity, and encourage healthy dietary choices.
  • Collaboration is Key: eHealth Africa works closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to leverage resources and support for food security and nutrition programs.

Eligibility for Food Security and Nutrition Programs

  • Master’s in nutrition, public health, etc. (certification a plus)
  • 7+ years experience (3+ in management, NGO required)
  • Knows nutrition programs, food systems, public health (esp. malnutrition, food insecurity, healthy eating)
  • Excellent leader, communicator, collaborator
  • Proven project planning/monitoring/evaluation with results
  • Works independently, prioritizes, manages projects (fast-paced)
  • Analyzes data, reports using relevant software
  • Committed to equity, diversity, inclusion (social determinants of health)
  • Strong analytical & communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent strategic thinker & problem-solver
  • Works independently, manages projects with minimal supervision

Climate Resilience and Adaptation:

  • Building Resilience: eHealth Africa is committed to building climate resilience within its health programs. They offer a Manager, Climate Resilience and Adaptation position to spearhead this initiative.
  • Strategic Planning and Risk Management: This role involves developing and implementing climate resilience strategies to anticipate and mitigate the impacts of climate change on health and the environment.

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field (environmental science, sustainability, climate studies, etc.)
  • At least 8 years of experience, with 3+ years in a managerial role (NGO experience a plus)
  • Proven experience in climate resilience planning, risk assessment, and adaptation strategies
  • Strong understanding of climate science (modeling, projections, scenario planning) – Preferred
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills (articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences)
  • Strategic thinking with a proactive and innovative problem-solving approach
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in common software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations and reports)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, reasoning, and research skills
